Profile: Our New Centre Director Krystle Ambler

We sat down with our fabulous new Centre Director at The Mulberry Bush, Krystle Ambler, to find out more about her educational philosophy.

What drew you to the child care industry?

Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to work with children. I now have three children of my own, so my passion for young people is alive and well!

I love teaching and sharing knowledge, and that is what drew me to early learning which combines my love of working with children and my interest in education.

What is your experience in childcare?

I first started in the industry when I was just seventeen as an assistant educator. I immediately fell in love with the work, and I stayed at that centre for twelve years moving through various roles. In 2013 I completed an Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services.

As a Director I continue to enjoy a close relationship with the children at my centre while exploring my passion for teaching and learning from all of the wonderful staff members.

What do you love the most about the industry?

One of my favourite things about the child care industry is the team work! They say it takes a village to raise a child, and children in care are lucky to have whole teams of staff devoted to their development. Leading a team to deliver the best possible care is one of the biggest joys of my job.

How can parents help to support/reinforce the education children receive in Early Learning?

Children really get the best out of early learning when their parents are actively involved. Our role is to support parents in achieving their goals for their children, so we love when parents take the time to speak with us about any aims or concerns. Even just keeping up with Story Park is a great way to stay informed and keep that open line of communication.

What is a fun fact about you?

I have three kids, so I know a lot about children’s television! My son loves PAW Patrol and PJ Masks, so I never miss an episode.
